Session SurveyIn 2019, just when we thought we knew everything there was to know about designing an online shopping experience, testing an onboarding flow, or building an information architecture, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are bringing new functionalities and types of interactions to the table - and with them a host of unfamiliar challenges when it comes to UX research and design.
This presentation will explore several examples of research we conducted on AI/ML-enabled products in the past year, and highlight how we adjusted our methodology to accommodate the more complex, open-ended nature of AI-driven experiences. Based on these experiences, we will propose a few generalized methodological tweaks that may be useful when researching AI-enabled products or features. As UX research on AI-enabled products is still an emerging practice, we invite questions and comments from the audience about their experiences with this type of product and the impact on research methodologies.
