Session Survey

Have you ever wished you could adapt a design process or tool to fit the exact needs of a particular project? Or needed a customized workshop to get non-design folks on board with human-centered design? Did you boldly go where no designer had gone before and DIY something brand new? Or did you make do with the same old-same old?

It’s scary to step out of the circle of tried-and-true tools, processes, and methodologies. But doing so can help you become a better designer. And we should know. We did it ourselves.

We developed a methodology to help designers build behavior-based personas, and collaborate with teams to align on how to design for them. Along the way, we learned a lot about creating design tools from scratch, and we would love to share our learnings with you!

During our talk, we’ll review our process, from discovery to implementation. We’ll show you how to spot opportunities within your own teams or organizations, ways to adapt established design methods, and how to share your ideas and learnings with team members and clients.

if you’ve ever thought “There has to be a better way!” this talk will empower you to start building or adapting tools and processes for yourself. It will help you see the value of flexible thinking and open-mindedness. And It will encourage you to grow in your career by becoming a thought leader.
