Session SurveyComplex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a debilitating type of chronic pain that has limited
therapy options. The disease is interesting as there is no wound or broken bone, but pain signals
overwhelm the patient's brain. The patient often also experiences depression and anxiety. One of the
most successful treatments is graded motor imagery therapy (a.k.a. mirror therapy). With the rise of
virtual and augmented reality, I worked with an interdisciplinary team for our collective thesis work to
enhance the traditional treatment method of graded motor imagery therapy by immersing patients in
virtual reality
